Adalia bipunctata (Linnaeus, 1758)
Two-spot Ladybird
A small distinctive ladybird, most often seen with two black spots on a bright red background, though other forms do occur. Common almost everywhere, and can be seen amongst low growing herbage such as stinging nettles feeding on aphids. Larvae and pupae can be found in the summer months, the adults first appearing in March and April and begin hibernating in late October to November.
